Technorati

Using Technorati I search "bookmobile"and came up with 643 results, I then done an advance search using the Tag Search and came up with only 28 results.

Therefore, to get your information "out there" it is important every effort is used to ensure this information is easily located through search results using tagging.

Del.icio.us

I have just set up my account on del.icio.us and have started bookmark websites. I have found this very easy to do. I will be using del.icio.us at work to organize and keep track of my favourite websites, especially since I can use my del.icio.us account at any computer.

Also, I have added a link to list my del.icio.us tags to this blog.

This afternoon while I was using del.icio.us, my 15 year old daughter ask me what I was doing and I explain how I was bookmarking "favorite"websites onto del.icio.us and could have access to these lists at work and at home.

She had seen this displayed on some websites but was not sure what it was all about. I have now set up an account for by daughter too, so she can link sites for school work and have access to them at school and at home.

Social bookmarking

What a wonderful way of keeping track of websites, as I use a number of computers. I can now create a listing of all my favourite websites and have access to them either at work or home.

Videos Online

I can see how using YouTube could be used in libraries to promote library services, author reviews, oral history programs.

Wikis

I can see several ways in which wikis would be very useful in libraries, particular when used as a Resource Tool to collaborate up-to-date library procedures and communication as all library staff can edit, add ideas and hints.

Also, Wikis can be create for the public to collaborate book reviews or local history.

I found editing on NSW learning 2.0 wiki a lot easier than I thought it would be

RSS Feeds

I have created a RSS feed to "Libraries Interact". This feed provides interesting items relating to the Australian library enviroment.

Using RSS feeds from other sites such as the lastest national news and current bestseller information will enable you blog to provide new information each time reader views the blog
